Champion Innovations Announces USDA Approval Of Process Verified Program – Tools for Producers to Compete In A Global Economy
For Immediate Release
Tomball, Texas June 11, 2007 – Champion Innovations announces approval of their USDA Process Verified Program (PVP) for livestock Age, Source, and Data Services. The company offers their Champion Certified Producer and Record Management Specialist certification programs to the US livestock industry. These programs provide source and/or age verification of livestock using an automated and secured record management system. Certified producers can market their production of qualified and uniquely identified animals as source and/or age verified using the system.
Brittany Flores, Customer Service Manager, said the system functions like email. “Our customers use our software to record their daily animal management activities and then synchronize their records to our servers. When they are ready to market their animals they simply log in to their web account and request a transfer report. Buyers of livestock on our system can download historical information on the animals they purchased with just one click.”
Champion Innovations designed their system to fit the way producers operate. Most producers have more than one species and many producers manage livestock for their customers, neighbors, absentee landowners, and family members. Using the company’s software, a producer can add multiple ranches with multiple species including horses, cattle, hogs, sheep and goats.
In addition to the USDA, Champion Innovations is working with government education agencies to provide their curriculum to agricultural educators to teach students in public high schools, colleges, and universities. Students that complete the training receive certificates of achievement. Terry Phillips, Director of Agricultural Programs - Texas Education Agency, mentions "that the two certifications are a good fit to our state's Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources curriculums for secondary public schools and fill a void for students who wish to pursue careers in agribusiness management."Larry Ermis, the company’s Curriculum Development Specialist, said, “our curriculum offers students the tools and training they need to compete in the emerging global agribusiness economy. The Internet has reached rural America and our company is focused on providing easy to use, valuable solutions for people making a living with livestock.”
Kirk Roybal, Information Technology Manager, said it’s not about a technology. “It’s about increasing an agribusiness’ productivity and the marketability of their production. Our system is the convergence of animal and ranch management with the livestock supply chain.” He continued, “we designed our software application by observing producers manage their animals at chute side. Then we invented a send/receive system to communicate with our servers. Lastly, we designed ranch management reports and our marketing support system. Although our system design is quite sophisticated our software is easy to use — even for novice users.”
Champion Innovations customer Jarod Kilcrease, a ranch manager in Central Texas said, “RanchHand was easy to learn. I can focus on my business and the reports help me make good decisions.”
